Contact
One address, read by the people who write the pages. There is no phone line and no live chat, because there is no one sitting at a desk to answer either.
Everything that reaches this site arrives at that address: corrections, questions, disagreements, and reports of a pattern that is not covered here yet.
What is worth writing in about
- A page that is out of date. Apps change their interfaces and their free tiers constantly. If a page describes something that has changed, say which page and what is different, and it will be checked and fixed.
- A fraud pattern that is missing. The fraud pages cover what people report most often, and a pattern that is not there yet is worth hearing about. Describe the pattern rather than any person involved.
- A question about the site itself. What is researched, how an app was judged, why a particular app is or is not covered.
What cannot be helped with here
This is a small publishing site, not a service. Being clear about that saves time for somebody who needs help today.
- Money that has already gone. Recovery is a job for a bank, a payment provider and the police. The recovery guide sets out the order to do things in, and the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center at ic3.gov is where the report goes.
- Checking whether a specific person is genuine. No site can do this from the outside, and any service that offers to is described on the profile check page. The honest answer is that only a live video call and a person who turns up in real life settle it.
- Legal, medical or financial advice. None of it is offered here and none of it can be given by email.
- App support. Account problems, refunds and bans belong with the app, which is the only party that can see the account.
If something is happening right now
Do not wait for a reply from a website. If money is being requested or has just been sent, contact the bank or payment provider today and report it at ic3.gov. If images are being used to threaten somebody, the sextortion page at the fraud hub sets out what to do in the first hour. Nothing sent to this address reaches either of those places.
What happens to what you send
Email sent to this site is read by the people who write it and is not published, sold or added to a mailing list. There is no newsletter. If a correction changes what a page says, the page is updated and the change is noted, but the person who sent it is not named unless they ask to be.
Do not send photographs of identity documents, bank details or screenshots containing anybody’s personal information. None of it is needed to fix a page, and this site has no secure channel for receiving it.
Replies
Everything is read. Not everything can be answered, and a reply can take several days, because the people reading are the same people writing. A correction with a specific page and a specific problem is the kind of message that gets acted on fastest.
